Mark Christensen, PGA Professional

        PGA Professional, Mark Christensen, leads all instruction at the Christensen Golf Academy.   Mark began his professional career in 1985 at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club, where he did his apprenticeship under the guidance of renowned PGA Professional and and Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor in America, J.D. Turner. 

       In a 1993 he moved to Quincy, Illinois, where he began a 13 year stint as the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf at Westview Golf Course.  During this period he spent three years as the Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at Quincy University.  As their coach he guided the women to two NCAA Division II Regionals and the men to one Regional.

      In the fall of 2005 he left Westview to develop the Christensen Golf Academy and the Christensen Golf Group.  

      Mark lists multiple Illinois High School State Champions among his students as well as numerous students who have received college scholarships to play golf.  He is very adept at teaching players of all levels, and professes a love for the art of diagnosis, intervention, and correction. 

    In 200 the Gateway Section of the PGA honored him as their Junior Golf Leader for his leadership in bringing a First Tee Chapter to Quincy, Illinois. 

   His wife, Mary, is a teacher in the Quincy Public School system.  Their daugher, Anne Marie, is a junior at Quincy Senior High School.
